Photographer, Director
Graeme Montgomery is a fashion still life photographer and director, internationally recognised for redefining luxury product imagery through concept-driven storytelling.
Emerging in the 1990s, he was part of a small group of photographers who transformed fashion still life from static product shots into expressive, art-led visual narratives for leading global brands and publications. Known for his raw, authentic and distinctly British aesthetic, Graeme’s work spans high-end fashion photography, luxury advertising campaigns and moving image direction, blending craftsmanship with experimentation to deliver visually arresting imagery across print, film and digital platforms.
Consistently ahead of the technological curve, Graeme shot his first cover for The Sunday Times Magazine at just 23. He adopted Photoshop at its launch, transitioned early to digital photography, and later expanded into directing award-winning films. He continues to explore emerging image-making technologies, including the creative integration of AI-generated imagery within his evolving visual practice.
Alongside commercial work, Montgomery’s personal projects explore social and psychological themes. His short documentary One Day, examining prisoner rehabilitation and progressive reintegration, won the Human Rights Award at the This Is My Brave Canberra Film Festival (2023) and the Gold Award at the Smiley Charity Film Awards (2024). His art series I Burn For You uses fire as an alchemical symbol of cleansing and transformation, while The Church of the Santo Daime recreates visions associated with altered consciousness, inviting viewers to question the limits of perception.
