Derrick Santini: From Whence We Came •

From Whence We Came forms part of Derrick Santini's ongoing exploration of lenticular photography, movement and perception.

Constructed from multiple photographic moments and revealed through motion, the work transforms as the viewer moves around it. Fragmented forms appear and dissolve, creating a shifting visual language that resists a single fixed interpretation.

Drawing inspiration from the body, memory and the cyclical nature of existence, the work explores themes of origin, transformation and impermanence. The figure is simultaneously present and absent, emerging from darkness before dissolving back into abstraction.

Rather than presenting a static image, Santini uses lenticular technology to create an artwork that exists across time and space. The viewer becomes an active participant, revealing new forms and relationships through movement and perspective.

Combining technical innovation with contemporary photographic practice, From Whence We Came exemplifies Santini's pioneering approach to lenticular art and his enduring fascination with transformation, perception and the spaces that exist between one state and another.
