Time Forms: Solid Space is an ongoing photographic series by Derrick Santini exploring the fleeting beauty of smoke as sculptural form. Created entirely in-camera, each image transforms a momentary gesture into a permanent composition, revealing abstract figures and organic structures that exist for only a fraction of a second before disappearing.
Working with light, movement and negative space, Santini elevates an everyday phenomenon into a study of balance, symmetry and illusion. Delicate wisps become architectural forms, human silhouettes and flowing landscapes, inviting viewers to find their own narratives within each composition.
Bridging photography, sculpture and abstraction, the series reflects Santini's fascination with capturing the intangible—freezing the invisible and giving permanence to something inherently transient.
